30-Day Itinerary to the US
Sharing some of the beautiful places to see in the United States.
We also went to Santa Monica Pier where you will see a family amusement park with solar paneled Ferris wheel. We had an amazing funnel cake from non other than the Funnel Cake Factory.
After this, we ended up going to Beverly Hills, at the workplace of my auntie. Yes, she has a lovely workplace.
The next day, we went to Universal Studios Hollywood.
You will enjoy seeing the behind-the-scenes of a movie and how editing makes it so much believable.
It was my second day in Fort Myers when we decided to drive to Miami and see one of my friends and spend the rest of the day there.
Miami is a two-hour drive from Fort Myers without traffic, crossing a few highways.
We knew we were about the reach Miami when we were experiencing the congestion entering the area and seeing some fancy cars around. Mind you, parking may be a bit of a challenge especially during lunch time.
After my 3-day itinerary at Fort Myers, I went to Jacksonville via Greyhound. Greyhound is a bus company that brings you to point A to point B without any hassle. It was my first time to use it and totally liked it. You get free wifi, a comfortable seat, decent stopovers (Tampa and Orlando, Florida).
I was adopted for another 3 days by my friend who works at Jacksonville.
Jacksonville was a different vibe than Fort Myers. It was more hip, more cultural.
We went to see different places in Jacksonville. I went to the famous ice cream shop "Bruster's". They have around 150 premium flavored ice cream.
We were shown how they make their freshest ice cream. It was a delectable tour, indeed and the best part was the free ice cream of our choice.
We went to Beverly Hills were we had breakfast at Urth Caffe. They say lots of celebrities dine in in this fancy restaurant. Urth Caffe serves their iconic healthy breakfasts partnered with their signature organic and heirloom coffee.
For NBA fans, Staples Center is a must-see, it is a sports and entertainment center, place for Grammy's, NBA games and concerts of the ever-famous artists. Name it!
The next day, we went to Napa valley where we had a glimpse of a wide selection of their vintage and premium wines. I was lucky enough to be 20 years old (turning twenty one in less than a month then) so I was allowed to have a classic.... grape juice! No regrets, I brought one bottle home. It is tasty and it is close to drinking a wine.
A few days and a few cities have passed, it was about time to fly back, my aunt, Tita Mayet booked us a to Disneyland! Who will not say yes to that? It was my first time in my 20 years of existence of entering Disneyland so I was so excited. We went there early (around 9 or 10am), right after breakfast. Our accommodation was a few steps away from the bus ride to Disneyland and after 5 minutes, we found ourselves in Disneyland!
I know there are still a lot of places to see in the US. This was my 30-day itinerary. What was yours?
I was fortunate enough to be in the US for almost one month last April 2015. I told my boss I wanted a vacation and I wanted it sooner than later. She approved it and got myself a promo ticket from China Eastern airlines. It was less than 2 weeks prior to my departure when I got my ticket. It was a crazy last minute arrangement, a really spontaneous but such memorable trip.
It was crazy as I never posted any hint of this trip. I only posted it when I was boarding to LA via Pudong. Funny how my workmates' reactions were Wow? Well, it was my #30betterdays. They knew it.
I made the arrangements 1 week prior to my flight. It was holy week then. For a hotelier, 30 days of vacation is quite impossible so I made sure that I utilize every single day of it. Here's how:

After landing, eat in In-n-Out Burger |
1) Explore Hollywood City in Los Angeles.
After landing Los Angeles City and having adjusted to the US timezone, my auntie and I went on exploring Hollywood City. I remember going there by train, bus and Uber. We booked a halfday bus tour to Hollywood and got some nice pictures.
Channing Tatum in Wax Museum |
John Green, one of my favorite authors in the Walk of Fame |
We also went to Santa Monica Pier where you will see a family amusement park with solar paneled Ferris wheel. We had an amazing funnel cake from non other than the Funnel Cake Factory.

2) Book the cheapest flight that you can see and visit a friend in Fort Myers.
I booked the flight here in the Philippines via Southwest for about $200. Way back then, a dollar was Php 45.
Day 4 was the day I had to say bye bye to LAX for quite a few days as I was about to visit one of my friends in Fort Myers, FL. We went to a few places (mostly outlet stores), their work place and some local restaurants. The weather in Fort Myers is the same as the Philippines, it was sooo hot.

Fort Myers is where I had tasted Perkins, it was a casual restaurant which serves breakfast all day! Price was very affordable and they have one of the best breakfast waffles, pancakes and muffins!
It was a few meters away from the Greyhound station before I went to Jacksonville (see below).
3) Drive to Miami Beach.

#friendshipgoals 4) Ride a bus to see a different city. |

St. Augustine is a Spanish city, similar to Fort Santiago here in the Philippines. It is a major tourist attraction and is also a headquarters for the Florida National Guard.
We passed by Ripley's and decided to buy a ticket and explore it.
The beautiful facade of the Ripley's Believe it or not museum. There are more than 20 Ripley's museum in the US. One of those is in LA.
We found ourselves eating at Denny's at 10pm and believe it or not, this was my order. Yup, finished that and the hot choco at the side.
6) Relax in LAX.
After 3 days, I went back to Los Angeles to go for more LAXploration and reLAXation. I tried riding the bus from LAX to my auntie's flat. It was not bad, it was 30-minute comfortable ride. I wish our buses would be those comfortable and commuting would be that fun.
We went to Beverly Hills were we had breakfast at Urth Caffe. They say lots of celebrities dine in in this fancy restaurant. Urth Caffe serves their iconic healthy breakfasts partnered with their signature organic and heirloom coffee.
The day was followed with another Beverly Hills exploration. This time, we went to different shops. Brace yourself for some walking and street crossing!
I'm sure that the pictures below are familiar.
LACMA is the largest art museum in the western United States, situated in over 20 acres in the heart of Los Angeles.
7) Fly to San Jose.
After a few days in LAX, my cousin and I flew to San Jose to spend time with our relatives for a few days.
I'm lucky to be accommodated with one of the best families in the world.
San Jose is 1-hour by plane from LA.
We had our dinner at Boiling Crab, one of the finest seafood restaurant in the US. The best part is you eat with your hands and they give you a bib to avoid messing up with your clothes.
8) Enjoy the breezy SFO.
During my second day in San Jose, Tito Tommy drove us to the breezy and picturesque San Francisco! I consider it breezy because it was 12 degrees when we went there. It was colder than LA and San Jose.
The Crookedest Street in the World |
We stopped at the famous Chinese restaurant then headed straight to the Golden Gate Bridge. We passed by Lombard Street along the way and went into a few more picturesque spots in SFO.
The Golden Gate Bridge |
9) Taste the classic and premium wines of Napa Valley.
We spent another day in Monterey Bay, a bay of the Pacific Ocean located on the coast of the California. It is where you will taste the famous seafood chowder.
10) Go to the happiest place on Earth.
